Not fancying himself as an arbiter of justice, Tiberius decided to skip out on handing in any pirates to their (possibly deserved) fates; it's hardly his business - and he doesn't have the whole story.
What did sway him, however, was overhearing one of the youngest recruits lamenting their lifestyle rather stupidly in the middle of a tavern. Though he would willfully obscure such silly sentimentality from his internal narrative, he was truthfully cast back to his old boss - a surly, cantankerous tom by the name of Lambert Hammond, who believed in second chances and redemption to any who were willing to make a change...
Perhaps as some sort of favor to the old codger, he found himself offering the kid a little friendly advice on seeking passage out of Seaworn with whatever stolen treasure he could book it away with. As a nervous thanks (perhaps expecting this dubious stranger to turncoat him), the kid split a little. In turn, Tiberius lent him a word of advice as they parted; that New Star City is a good place for beginnings.
